Dr Stojanović je akreditovani član Srpskog društva za mehaniku, član njegovog Upravnog odbora i recenzent u više vodećih međunarodnih časopisa iz oblasti mehanike, među kojima su Journal of Sound and Vibration, International Journal of Solids and Structures, Computers & Structures, Communications in Nonlinear Science and Numerical Simulation, International Journal of Mechanical Sciences i European Journal of Mechanics – A/Solids.
Njegova glavna istraživačka interesovanja obuhvataju modeliranje složenih linearnih i nelinearnih kontinualnih i diskretnih dinamičkih sistema, analitičke i numeričke metode rešavanja modela sa više stepeni slobode (MDOF), kao i primenu principa dinamičke i stohastičke stabilnosti na inženjerske probleme oscilacija.
